KILL LEVIATHAN: Pan-Secession in brief

On this channel, discussion of the core belief of pan-secession has either been done in piecemeal, or included in hour-long videos. Today we seek to put forward a succinct but comprehensive explanation for this belief.

The state has a problem: human beings are not interchangeable. There is not one homogenous mass of people that can be ruled in one systematic way. Instead, we are divided into millions of different subsets, many overlapping, in ways that borders and categorization by governments don’t even fully grasp. Property rights are universal, and all the natural rights that come to man are equally worth defending whether for uncontacted natives in the Amazon or for pink haired Swedish women in wheelchairs. However, these two communities not only have the RIGHT to perceive and express themselves differently, but they demand to. This is where libertarian strategy comes in. The great empires of the earth would be ultimately happy with a one world government, on their terms. Their populace, however, is full of both prejudice and the positive pride that comes from knowing their histories and traditions. This is a stopping block not just to a One world government, but the advance of the powers of supernational entities that are its harbinger, and even imperial expansion. “Isolationism” is the slur of the imperial to the “little englander”, people from all countries who wish only peace and think nothing of conquest and exploitation. Many little englanders are not conscious libertarians, and we can spend some of our resources on converting them to the true cause of liberty. As long as they are NOT anarcho-capitalists however, when they are right, we will have an advantage in supporting and AMPLIFYING their isolationist positions. In the Scottish independence debate between our man Lap and Zulu, Zulu rightly pointed out the strategy for libertarians in Scotland should be first to get independence from the United Kingdom, THEN to press on towards more decentralization in Scotland. Give Grover Norquist his “government small enough to drown in a bathtub” and then DROWN it. The Leninists did not refuse to ally with the liberal February government out of principle against the old imperialists of Tsardom, but they didn’t let the liberals dictate the terms of the agreement. Punish severely isolationism, populism, and all other ‘fellow travelers’ that deviates from the libertarian line in a compromising way, but reward these groups when they’re “being accidentally right”. It is to this end that pan-secessionism encourages a massive bloc of secessionists, regionalists, autonomists of all political stripes given certain basic litmus tests of their ability to tolerate other groups. Omnicidal movements such as ISIS, the Tamil Tigers, or Boko Haram should be shunned as much out of self-preservation as the optics of allying with such thugs (many secessionist groups in the Congo for example are just as nasty), but exclusionist and non-liberal groups can be critically supported at least against the mass government suppression of their causes. The Tigray in Ethiopia hold to a corrupted form of marxist-leninism and African socialism. Their ideas are wrong in many many ways. Compared to the Ethiopian state however, which is also extremely interventionist, the drastic shrinking of scale of this intervention may save millions of lives and have a greater chance of leading to a more liberalized Tigray. The act of secession is also in a sense “voting with your feet”, putting pressure on governments to change policies. The “secession of the plebs” in ancient Rome was explicitly a ploy to get the nobility to listen to the working men, because they were the ones who made the bread. Autonomists and regionalists who threaten to secede not out of a true interest in secession but pragmatically as leverage against central governments can be just as useful in the cause of liberty, as their actions also NORMALIZE the discussion of breaking away from states without the stain of the American Civil War. Our project on current and historical examples of nations who wish to be free of their imperial rulers is an attempt to educate libertarians on the counter examples they should bring up against the shadow of slavery.

To sum up, Pan-Secession is the belief that decentralization is the way, and that it has to be fought for step by step, cutting the state of all its lifeblood until final victory is achieved. And it will be achieved. Love your country, love your nation, and HATE your state! May 1000 flowers bloom!
